A review meeting of the Nullah Lai expansion project held today under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan in which a detailed briefing was given on the Nullah Lai expansion expressway, ring road, and industrial zone projects on both sides.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the Nullah Lai expansion project will solve the problems of the people.

During the briefing, it was said that the project is estimated to cost around Rs. 79 billion and includes proposals for drainage and treatment, modern construction on both sides, bridges for traffic flow, and interchanges.

It was also said during the briefing that the project would help in preventing future flood situation while the Lai Expressway project would address issues related to large scale urban population and provide relief to the common man.

In the meeting, the Prime Minister directed Dr. Salman to formulate final proposals after consultation with all stakeholders and submit them for approval.

Imran Khan said that the canal project is very important for Rawalpindi while it would be possible to prevent the damage caused by the floods every year.

Prime Minister Imran Khan further said that due to the increase in the population of Rawalpindi city over the last several years, the residents are facing various problems while the project will boost investment and economic activities.

The meeting was attended by Hamad Azhar, Asad Umar, Sheikh Rashid, and senior officers.
