Pakistan Army and Pakistan Coast Guard in their joint operation foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs abroad and seized 101 kg of crystal and 2700 kg of cannabis.

According to the Spokesperson of the Pakistan Coast Guard, the seized drugs were to be smuggled abroad by sea. The value of drugs in the international market is about Rs. 17.275 billion. They were hidden in mountains.

The DG Coast Guard appreciated the hard work and high performance of the officials who participated in the operation. The spokesperson said that the Pakistan Coast Guard is always working to prevent all kinds of trafficking.

Pakistan Coast Guard will continue to play its role in stabilizing the country’s economy, said the Spokesperson.

Earlier on November 9, more than two dozen people were detained and nine kilos of hashish — recovered during various operations conducted in Balochistan.

A large quantity of hashish was recovered from two passengers traveling on a bus near the Naka Khari check-post during a PCG operation.

The spokesperson said 28 individuals, including drug dealers and migrants, were detained in total.

The Pakistan Coast Guard searched various vehicles during different operations near Naka Khari and on the Super Highway (M-9 motorway), seizing 13,673kgs of betel nut, 1,060 stacks of foreign cigarettes, 18,312 packets of Indian gutka, and some other items. They also detained six individuals.
