President Alvi asks HEC to formulate policy to promote E-learning

On Wednesday, the President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi has asked the Higher Education Commission to formulate policy at the earliest for distant-education to promote E-learning in Pakistan.

According to the details, Dr. Alvi along with the newly appointed members of the Board of Governors of Virtual University, at Aiwan-e-Sadr, in Islamabad said that E-learning is cost-effective and easily accessible therefore, students from poor families in rural areas will get a huge benefit from it.

President Alvi has expressed his high hopes with the newly appointed Board of Governors’ members and hoped they will ensure good governance and will improve the education quality of the country.

The President also said that the university should expand its outreach as it has great potential to cover the country’s rural areas.
