Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit Gilgit-Baltistan on Sunday (today) to attend the National Day celebrations of the region.

According to sources, PM Imran will also address a ceremony during his visit to be attended by the Governor Gilgit-Baltistan and interim chief minister of the region

The caretaker chief minister of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), Mir Afzal Khan, announced that the elections for the legislative assembly will be organized on November 15.

Caretaker CM Mir Afzal Khan said in a statement that all preparations for the organization of polls for GB Legislative Assembly were completed and the authorities will ensure measures to hold a transparent election.

It is pertinent to mention here that the election schedule for the Gilgit-Baltistan region was announced in September 2020.

Earlier on Friday, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that India has become a fascist country influenced by Nazism and is a threat to its neighbours including China, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Imran Khan said that he wanted the United States to treat Pakistan equally like India.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said that there was tension in the region which could flare up at any time and whoever the new president was, the United States should treat both the countries equally.
