Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s private educational institutions have rejected the government’s proposal to close schools from November 24.

According to the details, the Private Schools in a unanimous statement has said that further closure of schools cannot be afforded.

Saleem Khan, provincial president of the Private Education Network, said that an immediate meeting would be held with the provincial education minister to raise concerns about the possible closure of educational institutions. They said they will go to any extent in opposition to the government’s forced closure of schools. It was decided that a delegation of Private Education Network will meet Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Shahram Khan Tarakai today (Friday) to inform him about the reservations of private schools.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Minister Taimur Jhagra has said that the decision regarding educational institutions could be taken two days before and after November 23.

On the other hand, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has set up a committee to liaise with political and religious parties to work out a plan of action for the future to curb the spread of the virus.

In the past 24 hours, 36 more people fell prey to the disease, taking the fatality toll to 7,561. As many as 868 patients have recovered from the virus during the last 24 hours.

According to NCOC with fresh inclusion of the infections in the country the national tally of cases now currently stands at 368,665, whereas, the active cases stood at 33,562.
