Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz has criticized the opposition parties for political point-scoring by risking lives of people amid COVID-19.

According to the details, the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz was briefing the media after a meeting of Parliamentary Committee on Coronavirus.

Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser chaired the meeting that was held in Islamabad.

Shibli Faraz said that the government will pursue the policy of protecting lives and livelihood of people to address the second wave of Covid-19 in the country.

The Minister said Pakistan’s strategy of combating the pandemic in its first wave was successful, which was widely appreciated.

Shibli Faraz regretted that the opposition demonstrated irresponsibility by not attending the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Coronavirus. He said the Covid-19 is a national issue and all the political parties have the responsibility to play their role in this regard. He said there should be no political point-scoring on the issue.

The Minister said the PDM is following its personal agenda and they have no importance for the health and the livelihood of people.
