US welcomes PM Khan’s visit to Afghanistan

The United States has expressed pleasure over Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Afghanistan.

As per the details, the US State Department said in its statement that t is pleasing to see Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Kabul to underscore Pakistan’s commitment to peace and to further cooperation with Afghanistan on security, refugees, trade, and regional connectivity.

In addition to this, the Department further stated that Pakistan-Afghanistan cooperation contributes to the entire region’s stability.

Earlier, the European Union has also appreciated the PM’s visit to Afghanistan. The EU has said that Islamabad can play a significant role in the solution of the Afghan conflict.

The Department’s statement comes as Prime Minister Imran Khan visited Kabul to hold talks with the Afghan leadership on the entire spectrum of bilateral relations and the Afghan peace process.

According to the details, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Advisor on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood, DG ISI Lt. Gen. Faiz Hamid, Foreign Secretary Sohail Mehmood, Special Representative for Afghanistan Muhammad Sadiq and senior officials are accompanying the Prime Minister during the visit.

Upon arrival at Kabul airport, the Prime Minister and his delegation was received by Afghan Foreign Minister Mohammad Haneef Atmar and Afghan President’s Special Representative for Pakistan Mohammad Umer Daudzai and senior officials.

Ambassador of Pakistan to Afghanistan Mansoor Ahmad Khan and Embassy officials also present. The visit will help foster a stronger and multi-faceted relationship between the two brotherly countries.
