Which Areas of Hyderabad put under smart lockdown?

During the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the local administration of Hyderbad has enforced a smart lockdown to curb the spread of the infection.

The smart lockdown will be in effect for nine days from 9 am today to December 5. The district administration has also issued instructions to the police to seal off areas during the smart lockdown.

According to the announcement, hospitals, medical stores with other essential services will remain open.

The areas put under smart lockdown include Citizen Colony, Gulistan-e-Sajjad, Alamdar Chowk, Diplai Co-operative Housing Society, Attock City, Baldia Colony, Journalist Colony, Mubarak Colony, Airport Road, Kohisar, Latifabad Unit No 6, Nasim Nagar, Bhittai Town and Bhittai Nagar.

Deputy Commissioner Fuad Ghaffar Soomro has urged people to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and wear masks.

Coronavirus in Pakistan

It is pertinent to mention here that the novel coronavirus has claimed 59 more lives across the country during the past 24 hours, lifting the death toll from the disease to 7,662. The number of active Covid-19 cases increased to 36,683.

As many as 38,983 samples were tested during the period, out of which 2,665 turned out to be positive, according to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).

A total of 374,173 confirmed cases have been reported while 329,828 have recovered so far.

In addition to this, according to NCOC, 653 of the patients under treatment are said to be in critical condition.
