APS Attack: PM pays tribute to victims during Peshawar visit

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday outpoured his deepest sympathies while recalling the Army Public School (APS) Peshawar massacre and said that the incident united the whole nation.

According to the details, these remarks were made by Imran Khan during the inauguration ceremony of Peshawar Institute of Cardiology.

While addressing the ceremony, Imran Khan said that the whole nation defeated terrorism through unity. APS Peshawar massacre united the whole nation.

“Six years ago, on December 16, the country met an attack that brought immense pain and grief to every citizen living here,” the prime minister said. “But it also taught us to fight terrorism and that too together.”

From that day onwards, we have seen how such incidents have been prevented, he said. Times have changed in these six years and we are way ahead today, he pointed out.

More than 145 children and school staffers were gunned down in an attack on an army-run school in Peshawar on December 16, 2014.

In a separate message Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Mahmood Khan said that the martyrdom of students and teachers would always be remembered.

He said that innocent students of Army Public School sacrificed their lives to lay a foundation of lasting peace in the country and made the entire nation, government, and security forces united against the common enemy.
