Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the federal government is committed to developing Pakistan’s tourism potential while protecting the environment.

While Tweeting, The Prime Minister shared a couple of photos and wrote, “Pakistan’s massive tourism potential is just beginning to be discovered.”

Earlier, Najy Benhassine, Country Director of the World Bank in Pakistan, has said that the World Bank will continue its cooperation for the promotion of tourism and reduction of environmental pollution in Pakistan.

In a statement on Saturday, he said it was an honour for him to attend the signing ceremony of the Eco-Tourism Launching Partnership Agreement with Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday a day earlier.

The World Bank Country Director said that under the Eco-Tourism Launching Partnership Agreement and Track, a tourist awareness campaign will be launched in Pakistan. Similarly, equipment will be provided for garbage collection and disposal at tourist destinations.

The focus will also be on encouraging clean tourist destinations and minimizing the amount of solid waste, he added.

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday attended the Eco-Tourism Launching Partnership Agreement as the chief guest. The development of the tourism sector in the country is the top priority of the government, unorganized tourism in the country has caused a lot of damage, the Prime Minister said.

Prime Minister Imran Khan added that the ecosystem of tourist destinations has to be saved.
