Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Maulana Fazlur Rehman has convened a meeting of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) on January 1, 2021.

According to the Pakistan Democratic Movement PDM spokesperson, the meeting will be held at PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz’s house in Lahore in which important decisions are expected.

Sources said that the meeting will discuss long march and other important decisions are expected as a strategy to oust the government of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf.

Moreover, matters related to the upcoming senate elections will also come under considerations.

It may be recalled that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari while addressing a rally at Garhi Khudabakhsh yesterday had said that if Prime Minister Imran Khan does not resign by January 31, he would then be holding a long march.

“Today we have to vow to fulfill Benazir Bhutto’s promise and save Pakistan,” he said.

Bilawal added, “Benazir Bhutto was not afraid of death as she knew that her coward attackers were preparing to assassinate her, but she returned despite all threats for the love she had for people of Pakistan.”

He said due to the government’s “anti-people” policies, millions of people were forced to live below the poverty line and people couldn’t afford two meals a day.

“The rulers neither see your poverty nor your unemployment nor the storm of inflation,” the PPP leader said.

“This puppet cannot provide bread and employment to people and says ‘I won’t leave anyone.’

“But now the people fed up of unemployment, poverty and inflation will not leave this puppet, oppressor and selected.”

Former President Asif Ali Zardari said that the opposition parties would have to change the procedure to oust Imran Khan.

As per reports, there are differences between PPP and JUI-F as Maulana Fazlur Rehman did not even attend the PDM meeting on the occasion of Benazir Bhutto’s death anniversary.

According to sources, the reason for Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s non-attendance at the Larkana meeting was the non-deployment of officers of his choice in Sindh.
