PM to attend oath-taking ceremony of newly elected GB Cabinet

Prime Minister PM Imran Khan will be attending the oath-taking ceremony of the new Gilgit Baltistan cabinet, sources said on Wednesday.

According to sources, Imran Khan will pay a one day visit to Gilgit Baltistan. The new provincial cabinet will be sworn in at Governor House.

Sources added that the PM will be accompanied by chief organizer Saifullah Khan Niazi, Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan (FB) Ali Amin Gandapur and Adviser to PM on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam. During his upcoming visit, PM Imran Khan will also meet the governor, chief minister, and cabinet members. All preparations have been completed ahead of Imran Khan’s visit.

Let it be known that Barrister Khalid Khursheed, the newly-elected chief minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, took the oath of his office on Tuesday. Gilgit-Baltistan Governor Raja Jalal Hussain Yasin administered the oath to the chief minister. Caretaker Chief Minister Mir Afzal Khan and Speaker Amjad Zaidi were also present.

PTI’s Barrister Khalid Khursheed, who belongs to the bordering area of Ratto, elected chief minister of Gilgit-Baltistan for the five-year term. Speaker Amjad Zaidi presided over the special session. Khursheed secured 22 votes, while Amjad Hussain advocate of the opposition alliance got nine votes.
