Prime Minister Imran Khan will be chairing a session on the performance of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

According to the details, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PIA Air Marshal retired Arshad Malik will brief the Prime Minister in today’s session.

The session will also be attended by Federal Minister For Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan, secretary aviation and Director-General (DG) Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Ishrat Hussain.

Imran Khan will be apprised about the financial crisis being faced after assigning a route to a foreign airline for running flights to London and Manchester. The decision had been opposed by the national carrier’s management.

At this time, the country’s flight operation for London and Manchester is currently being run through alternative sources.

The PIA management plans to retire 3,500 employees under the VSS scheme and based on performance, a forced retirement scheme would be enforced with the completion time period of January 2021.
