Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s name removed from ECL

A relief for former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi as his name has been removed from Exit Control List (ECL) for 15 days.

As per the details, he has been issued a memorandum for traveling abroad.

The decision has been approved and a circulation summary has been released by the Federal Cabinet.

According to sources, Abbasi had sought permission to go to the US to meet his sister and brother-in-law, who have tested positive for coronavirus. He said they have been shifted to the intensive care unit and he wants to visit them.

Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, former finance minister Miftah Ismail, and others have been indicted in long-running Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) case.

According to the details, the Islamabad accountability court has also indicted former MD PSO Sheikh Imranul Haq. All the accused pleaded not guilty in the accountability court in Islamabad.

15 accused have been named in the LNG reference. Abdullah Khaqan who is the son Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Chaudhry Aslam (MD of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s airline), Muhammad Amin and Sana Sadiq are also among the accused.
