The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Thursday submitted the report related 2016 Havelian plane crash in the Sindh High Court (SHC).

According to the details, a division bench of the Court heard the petition seeking directives for the authorities concerned to make the report of an inquiry into the 2016 Havelian plane crash public.

Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar headed the bench. A counsel for the CAA submitted a reply in the court. The bench directed the petitioner and respondents to submit a rejoinder to the CAA response.

However, the court adjourned the hearing due to the absence of petitioner Iqbal Kazmi who was stated to be unwell. It directed CAA officials to ensure their presence at the next hearing.

It should be noted that at the previous hearing, the SHC had directed the CAA to furnish a comprehensive report in the case.

On 7 December 2016, Pakistan International Airlines Flight 661, a domestic passenger flight from Chitral to Islamabad, operated by an ATR 42-500 twin-turboprop, crashed near Havelian.

All 47 people on board died, including singer-turned-preacher and the Deputy Commissioner of the District of Chitral.
