CNS discusses bilateral ties with KSA Defense leadership

Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi has reiterated to play vital part in enhancing the defense ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

According to the Spokesperson of Pakistan Navy, CNS held separate meetings with Saudi Chief of General Staff and Commander Royal Saudi Naval forces during his visit to the Kingdom.

On visit to the Naval Headquarters in Riyadh, Commander Royal Saudi Naval forces Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Ghufaili received the CNS. Pakistan Navy Chief was presented guard of honor on the occasion.

The Pakistan Navy Chief was briefed on the Royal Saudi Naval Forces and its ongoing operations.

Earlier upon arrival at Riyadh, he was received by Raja Ali Ejaz, Ambassador of Pakistan to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and high ranking military officers of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Previously this month Ambassador of Saudi Arabia in Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki, called on Naval Chief Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi in Islamabad.

According to a spokesperson of Pakistan Navy, issues of mutual interest were discussed in the meeting.  According to the officials, both the dignitaries discussed the security situation in the region and further enhancement of bilateral maritime cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

The Pakistani and Saudi navies have enjoyed close relations for decades. The Pakistani navy provided training to Saudi officers and sailors during the Saudi navy’s formative years in the seventies and eighties while Saudi Arabia has given the Pakistan navy free-of-cost fuel on many occasions.
