Chairman CPEC Authority Lieutenant General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa has said that CPEC is a huge project that has the potential to change the destiny of Pakistan.

According to details, Chairman CPEC Authority Lt Gen (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa during a meeting with Lahore Chamber President Mian Tariq Misbah assured the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry of all possible cooperation for holding a “Gwadar Business Conference”.

Asim Saleem Bajwa said that he would soon visit Lahore Chamber and give details about business opportunities in Gwadar.

Chairman C-Pac Authority Lt. Gen. (Retd) also said that work on CPEC projects is in full swing and special attention is being paid to less developed areas.

Asim Saleem Bajwa said that the main objective of CPEC was to make the people of Pakistan and China economically prosperous through the construction of an economic corridor, which would strengthen bilateral ties.

Chairman C-Pac Authority Lieutenant General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa further said that numerous opportunities for trade and investment would be created which would not only benefit both the countries but also connect them with other regional countries.

In the meeting, Lahore Chamber President Mian Tariq Misbah said that both the countries deserved applause for launching this grand project.

Lahore Chamber President Mian Tariq Misbah said that the project should provide equal opportunities to companies of both the countries so that Pakistani industry could also benefit from it.

Mian Tariq Misbah said that local raw materials should be given priority for completion of CPEC projects. The President of Lahore Chamber said that Chinese investors should be encouraged to develop local industry in Pakistan which will greatly benefit Pakistan’s small and medium enterprises.

Lahore Chamber President Mian Tariq Misbah further said that work on special economic zones under CPEC should be expedited while local investors should be given the same incentives and facilities as are being given to outside investors.
