Firdous Shamim Naqvi of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has submitted his resignation to the Speaker Sindh Assembly.

According to the details, he has resigned from the position Leader of the Opposition in the Sindh Assembly.

Naqvi earlier had sent his resignation via WhatsApp to Prime Minister Imran Khan. He said the PTI is his first and last political party as he was going nowhere from his party.

He said he did not want to disclose the reasons behind his resignation at the moment. “The reasons will surface shortly,” he added.

According to the reports it was the second time when Firdous Shamim Naqvi’s resignation was sought by the party leadership.

They said that earlier in September 2020, the PTI leadership had also sought his resignation as leader of the opposition.

However, the reports said, Naqvi managed to somehow retain the position by convincing the party leadership.

They claimed that the performance of Naqvi and his “controversial statements” had led the party to seek his resignation.
