Hotel Owner And Manager In Trouble For Dance Party At Malam Jabba

The hotel owner and manager got arrested when the footage of people dancing at Sawat’s Malam Jabba started making rounds on social media.

Fazal Khan and Hasnain Ahsan, the owner and manager of the ski resort and hotel Frontier Tower in Malam Jabba hosted an event called Harvest Festival Pakistan from December 3 to December 6.

After the registration of an FIR, both the hotel manager and owner are put behind the bars for breaching the prescribed Standard Operating procedures (SOPs) and promoting vulgarity.

The case was filed under the loudspeaker act and Section 294 (annoying others by singing, dancing, or uttering obscene songs, ballads, or words in a public place) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and Section 33 (punishment for failing to comply with federal or provincial government’s orders) of the National Disaster Management Act, 2010.

They were also charged with the West Pakistan Regulation and Control of Loud Speakers and Sound Amplifiers Ordinance, 1965, sections three and four. Moreover, it is possible to imprison people sentenced under Section 33 for two years.

A few days back, a video featuring 30 to 40 people dancing at the tourist resort in Malam Jabba went viral on the social media platforms, says the complainant SHO Javed Iqbal.
He further added and said that after verifying the video footage they learned that last month a party was held at the resort when the accused gave loudspeakers along with violating SOPs and peddling vulgarity.
