Nepali climbers have made history by climbing the world’s second-highest peak, K2, in the freezing winters.

Thirteen of the world’s 14 highest peaks were topped in the winter, and K2 is the only peak in the world that has not been topped in the winter.

But now the climbers have made history by completing this extremely difficult task.

A team of 10 Nepalese climbers spent the night of January 15 in Camp Three at minus 50 degrees, after which the team left for Camp 4 at one o’clock in the night.

Note that ‘K2’ is the second-highest peak in the world with a height of 8611 meters which is also known as Savage Mountain.

The peak was first climbed in 1954 by Italian climber Achille Compagnoni.

So far, 86 climbers have lost their lives trying to climb K2, while only 450 climbers have managed to summit it before today.

However, none of them were able to climb it in winter.
