Pakistani passengers who were stranded in Malaysia after one of the PIA planes was held up by authorities have returned home.

According to the details, 54 passengers reached Islamabad from Kuala Lumpur via flight QR-632. The national carrier plane was stopped for failing to pay arrears of lease following orders from a court in Malaysia.

On arrival at Islamabad airport, the stranded Pakistanis piled up complaints against Pakistani embassy officials in Malaysia and the PIA staff.

The passengers said the PIA and the diplomatic staff did not cooperate with them and provided no food or also did not arrange any sort of accommodation.

As reported, the passengers slept on the floor of the Kuala Lumpur Airport for two days.

Boeing 777 Aircraft was stopped at Kuala Lumpur airport over the non-payment of $14 million to the lease company.

The crew said that the Air Traffic Controller informed them to standby where the local authorities came on board and asked the crew that they are not allowed to depart as per orders.

The plane was bought on lease by a Vietnam company in 2015. PIA spokesperson said that the matter is being heard in the British court.
