The High Court of Sindh Monday summoned secretary Local Government of Sindh in a case related to unavailability of the vaccination and neutering of stray dogs.

According to the details, during the hearing of a petition related to increasing number of dog bites cases in the province, the court summoned the secretary Local Government of Sindh and ordered him to apprise the court after availability of the anti-rabies vaccine.

The court directed the secretary to submit a detailed report regarding so far proceedings over the legislation related to neutering stray dogs in the province. After hearing of arguments, the hearing of the case was later adjourned until January 28.

The number of dog bite cases in the province are increasing as the authorities fail to control over the problem of the stray dogs.

The previous month, a six-year old lost his life after being savagely attacked by stray dogs in Larkana.

Hasnain was under treatment at the NICH, where he underwent multiple face surgeries.

Hasnain was immediately shifted to Chandka Medical Hospital, Larkana in critical condition when he was attacked by the stray dogs.

However, the doctors at the hospital refused to treat the child due to severe injuries and asked his parents to take him away to any hospital in Karachi.

The parents brought the injured child to Indus Hospital in Karachi where they were advised to take the child to Civil Hospital.

The Civil Hospital administration refused to take the case and asked them to shift the patient to Jinnah Hospital.
