‘Haleem Adil Beaten up by PPP Workers,’ claims family

Opposition leader in Sindh Assembly and Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf MPA Haleem Adil Sheikh beaten up by the Pakistan Peoples Party PPP workers, said in a family statement on Monday.

According to the details, family of Haleem Adil Sheikh claimed that Haleem Adil Sheikh was attacked inside Central Jail today with the intention to take his life.

As per the statement, “He is injured and unable to stand or walk.”

Haleem Adil Sheikh was shifted to (National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases)NICVD, after he complained of chest pain due to alleged torture by gang-war goons in the jail. Director Orthopaedics Jinnah Hospital AR Jamali reached NICVD and completely examined the Sindh Assembly opposition leader. As per sources, tortured marks were seen on the shoulder, neck, hand and other parts of his body. Furthermore, it was learned that he will be treated at Jinnah Hospital.

The PTI leader said that he was attacked by goons of gang war as soon he entered the jail cell. I was saved by the jail administration during the attack of the goons, he added.

The PTI leader had complained of heart pain and requested the jail superintendent to take him to the hospital due to ill health.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Imran Khan telephoned Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and expressed concern over the health of Haleem Adil Sheikh. Sindh Governor Imran Ismail briefed the Prime Minister on the current situation.

Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Fawad Chaudhry also demanded immediate release of Opposition Leader of Sindh Assembly.

He said in his Twitter post that arrest of Haleem Adil Sheikh in political cases deserves solid condemnation.

“Arrest of Haleem Adil Sheikh in a political case and attack on him by goons is highly reprehensible,” he added.
