Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan will pay an official visit to Attock city of Punjab province to hold important meetings.

According to the details, Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate plantation drive by planting a sapling alongside Ghazi Brotha canal.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will be accompanied by federal ministers, advisers and aides.

Prime Minister Imran Khan recently said that the government is making efforts to mitigate the effects of pollution through aggressive plantation campaign.

He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of Spring Tree Plantation Campaign under ten billion tree tsunami and the first ever Miyawaki urban forest in Islamabad. The Prime Minister said that unfortunately Pakistan is among the ten countries which have been affected by the climate change.

He warned that global warming and greenhouse gas emissions pose huge threats to Pakistan. He said plantation is essential for the next generations and role of youth is also very important for achieving the goal of ten billion trees plantation campaign in the country.

The Prime Minister said under urban forest mechanism Miyawaki Forest program, trees will be planted at fifty sites in Lahore.

According to research, almost 70% of trees in the walled city have been cut, the prime minister revealed, adding that pollution in cities such as Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar are very dangerous for children and the elderly. “The pollution in these cities reduces the average life span of a person by 11 years.”

Imran Khan last visted Attock in November 2020, when he inaugurated of the Hassan Abdal Railway Station.
