PMSA arrests 17 Indian fishermen for fishing illegally in territorial waters

At least seventeen Indian fishermen were arrested and their three boats confiscated by Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) on Friday for fishing illegally in the territorial waters of Pakistan.

According to the details, Pakistan Maritime Security Agency Spokesperson said that the Indian nationals were taken into custody while they were fishing illegally in the territorial waters of Pakistan.

The detained fishermen were handed over to the Docks police, who registered cases against them under the fisheries and foreigners acts.

Back in December 2020, Pakistan Maritime Security Agency arrested six Indian fishermen for violating its territorial waters for illegal fishing. The spokesperson for the PMSA said that the boat of the fishermen had also been confiscated during an operation conducted near the Creek area.
