What does the government say about the illegal appointment of Chairman Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority Mirza Saleem Baig?

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Accountability Shahzad Akbar was invited to the BOL News show ‘National Debate’. During the conversation, host Jameel Farooqi asked him how the government can stop PEMRA’s action against BOL.

Shahzad Akbar’s Reply:

Shahzad Akbar has said that PEMRA is a regulatory authority and the regulator is independent.

He explained that everything is done judicially and if the regulator violates the laws, there are forums that take action against the violations.

He said that there is a criterion to monitor the appointment of tenured people like Chairman PEMRA. The victims should approach the courts to take legal actions against such brutality.
