Federal Planning and Development Minister Asad Umar on Thursday warned that the government will be forced to place tighter restrictions amid the third wave of coronavirus if the health protocols are not followed by people.

According to the details, Federal Planning and Development Minister Asad Umar in his tweet said that hospitals across the country are recording a significant rise in daily admissions of COVID-29 infected people.

The Minister said,

Sharp spike in covid positivity. Hospital daily admissions & people in critical care rising fast.

Asad Umar said that the government will be forced to place tighter restrictions if standard operating procedures (SOPs) devised to curb the spread of the virus are not strictly followed.

He wrote:

If sop compliance does not improve, we will be forced to place stronger restrictions on activities.

He also urged people to be very careful as the new strain spreads is more deadly.

He wrote:

Please be very very careful. The new strain spreads faster and is more deadly.
