Coronavirus cases are again surging in Pakistan as the local administration in Lahore has announced to impose a smart lockdown in 16 more areas.

As per the details, a notification has been issued by the Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department according to which the number of positive cases is constantly increasing in Lahore and there is a serious threat to public health.

As per the notification, the smart lockdown has been enforced in five areas of Cantt, two areas of Data Ganj Bakhsh Town, three areas of Nishtar Town, four areas of Samanabad Town, one area in Shalimar Town, and one in Wagah Town.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) have also been issued by the district administration to ensure lockdowns are implemented well. All markets, shopping malls, restaurants, offices (public and private) in these areas will remain closed.

On the other hand, people will not be allowed to go to these areas or leave the areas while public transport will remain suspended too.

Furthermore, fruit and vegetable shops, naan shops, and petrol pumps in the above-mentioned areas will be opened from 7 am to 7 pm. Milk and meat shops will also be opened from 7 am to 7 pm. But medical stores, clinics, laboratories, and hospitals will be open for 24 hours.
