ECP rejects plea to stop notification of Faisal Vawda’s senatorship

Election Commission of Pakistan has dismissed the petition to stop notification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member Faisal Vawda’s senatorship.

Faisal Vawda has been asked to submit a written reply from the commission. On the other hand, ECP has accepted the request to make advocate Rasheed A. Rizvi as a party in this case.

The commission has adjourned the hearing till March 18.

Earlier, Federal Minister for water resources Faisal Vawda has approached Sindh High Court (SHC) to seek an immediate restraining order against the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

As per the details, he has sought the order over the disqualification case against him in the ECP. SHC has approved Vawda’s petition.

Vawda has claimed that ECP has rejected his request against the facts. He has challenged ECP’s decision taken on Feb 24.
