‘Ensuring safe journey on highways is top priority,’ says Murad Saeed

Federal Minister for Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed on Wednesday said that the total length of road infrastructure projects during PTI regime will exceed over 6000 kilometers which is three times more than the ones executed in the previous regime.

According to the details, Murad Saeed was addressing an event of motorway police in Islamabad today.

During his address, Murad Saeed announced that the PTI government has initiated work on 11 new projects including the western route of CPEC whilst the ground-breaking of 5 more projects will be performed this year.

He said that road infrastructure projects designed during the PTI leadership are different from the previous regime as these are not being built through loans but investments.

He said that technology is being used to make the journey on motorways and highways safe. He said that ensuring safe journeys on highways is our top priority, ‘said Murad Saeed, adding that, ‘use of technology in making motorways safe also helped increase our revenue.’

Speaking on the occasion, Fawad Chaudhry, the Federal Science Minister said that his team is working on an ordinance for establishment of civil drone authority in Pakistan, which will regulate the manufacturing of drones in the country.

He said that in the modern era, use of drones in the sectors of policing, agriculture and health has become a necessity.

In addition to this, Fawad Chaudhry said that PTI laid the foundation of Naya Pakistan on the basis of knowledge, science and technology.
