Lahore Police flexes muscles against SOPs violators, 120 cases registered

Lahore police has registered 120 cases against the violation of coronavirus-related standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the city.

According to the Police statement, cases have been registered against 96 more citizens for not wearing masks and 120 cases have been registered for violating Corona SOPs despite clear directions of the Punjab government after an alarming increase in the Covid-19 cases.

They were arrested under the Punjab Pandemic Control Act, 2020. A large number of people are being seen violating the SOPs in the markets and other public places in Punjab.

CCPO Lahore said that action would be taken against those who will roam without wearing face masks while joint teams of district administration and health department have also been formed for strict implementation of Corona SOPs.

Moreover, CCPO also added that restrictions could be made tougher to ensure the use of masks.

On the other hand, Pakistan today reported 4,525 new cases of coronavirus whereas 41 patients have passed away in the last 24 hours.

According to the data by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), the death toll has reached 14,256.

Data by NCOC shows that40,369 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours, overall 10,107,095 tests have been conducted so far in Pakistan.

On the other hand, 2,268 people have recovered in the last 23 hours while 3,055 patients are in critical condition. Overall 598,197 patients have beaten Covid-19. The total number of active cases is 46,663.
