The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday released the schedule of Karachi NA 249 By-elections.

According to the details, the by elections will be held on April 29.  The seat was vacated due to resignation of Federal Minister Faisal Vawda.

Pakistan Peoples Party, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz and other parties have sought applications from the candidates seeking ticket for the NA-249 by-election.

Pakistan Peoples Party Social media cell in its statement said that applications are invited for Party ticket for NA-249 (Karachi West- II) by-election. Applications can be sent to Bilawal House, Karachi or Party office in Islamabad with the required formalities within a week.

Whereas the parliamentary board has been formed by ruling party Chairman and Prime Minister Imran Khan to award a ticket to the candidate after Faisal Vawda submitted his resignation. Federal minister Ali Zaidi, PTI Karachi President Khurrum Sher Zaman and PTI leader Firdous Shamim Naqvi have been included in the board.
