NCOC decides to increase lockdown restrictions amid surge in Covid-19 cases

Coronavirus cases are once again surging in Pakistan and it has compelled the authorities to increase restrictions.

As per the details, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) in a meeting decided to increase restrictions of activities contributing to a sharp increase in covid positivity.

Federal Minister for planning Asad Umar announced in a tweet amid the meeting. He wrote that provincial & ICT administrations were also directed to tighten implementation of SOPs and a crackdown on violations that are taking place.

After the third wave of coronavirus hits Pakistan, Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood showed concern for the students, teachers, and the staff of educational institutions.

He took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and wrote,

“The third coronavirus wave is serious; requires careful review.”
