Mustafa Kamal lambastes Sindh govt for Karachi’s sorry state of affairs

Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) has announced to contest NA-249 Karachi by-election.

According to Pak Sarzameen Party spokesperson, Chairman Mustafa Kamal, Syed Hafeezuddin and Humayun Usman received nomination papers from the election commission to contest in NA-249 by-election.

The Election Commission of Pakistan last week released the schedule of Karachi NA 249 By-elections. According to the ECP, the by elections will be held on April 29.  The seat was vacated due to resignation of Federal Minister Faisal Vawda.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader, former finance minister Miftah Ismail and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Sindh’s President Nisar Khuhro have been among the candidates who have received nomination papers for the by election in Karachi West district.

Nomination Papers Submission Deadline

According to ECP, the candidates can submit their nomination papers from March 13 to March 17. The final list of candidates will then be displayed.

Scrutiny of the nomination papers

ECP said that the scrutiny of the nomination papers will be held on March 25.

Appeals against Rejection

ECP said that the appeals against rejection or acceptance of papers could be filed on March 29.

Decision on Appeals

The decision on appeals against the rejection would be announced on April 6.

Withdrawal of Nomination Papers  

Candidates can withdraw their nomination papers until April 7

Allotment of Election Symbols

The election symbol will be allotted on April 8. Polling for the by-election will be held on April 29.
