‘Sindh reported no new Polio case in past 9 months,’ Aseefa Bhutto Zardari

Ambassador for Polio Free Pakistan Aseefa Bhutto Zardari on Monday informed that Sindh reported not a single case in the past nine months.

According to the details, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari in her tweet today said,

Sindh has had ZERO new polio cases in the past 9 months Alhamdullillah ! Let’s keep this momentum going. Let’s stay on course and committed to #PolioEradication. Remember to accept the #polio vaccine every time it is offered.

It is worth mentioning here that Anti-polio campaign of varied duration is under way across the country.

As per reports, in Punjab, 20 million children of two to five years of age will be administered anti-polio vaccine during five-day drive. According to a spokesman of Punjab Health Department, 120,000 health workers are taking part in the campaign.

In Sindh, 9 million children under the age of five years will be administered anti-polio drops during a week-long drive. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, more than 6.4  million children up to five years of age will be administered anti-polio drops during five-day campaign.

In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, more than sixty six hundred thousand children will be administered anti-polio drops, during five day anti-polio campaign. According to Emergency Operation Center Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, about 30,000 teams have been constituted which are visiting door to door to vaccinate the children. In Gilgit-Baltistan, over 242 thousand children up to five years of age will be administered anti-polio vaccine.
