TLP Protests

It may be recalled that Lahore Police on Monday this week arrested Saad Hussain Rizvi, chief of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP)  and son of late cleric Khadim Hussain Rizvi.

Rizvi called on the government to honor what he said was a commitment it made in February to his party to expel the French envoy before April 20 over the publication in France of depictions of the Prophet. The government has said it only committed to discuss the matter in Parliament.

Federal Cabinet then on Thursday approved the proposal to impose ban on TLP for killing two policemen, attacking law enforcement forces and disrupting public life through nationwide protests.
