FM Qureshi to leave for three-day UAE visit today

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi will leave for a three-day official visit to the UAE on Saturday (today).

As per the details, Qureshi will meet Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and other UAE officials. He will also negotiate with the UAE’s leadership about areas of bilateral cooperation including collaboration in trade and investment, job opportunities for the Pakistani workforce, and the welfare of the Pakistani diaspora.

Furthermore, the foreign Minister will discuss regional and global issues of mutual interest too.

Above all, Qureshi will meet the Pakistani diaspora and talk to local and international media.

Earlier this month, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan wants to have more economic linkages with Germany for enhancement of bilateral trade and investment.

He addressed a joint news conference with his German counterpart, Heiko Maas, on Monday after talks in Berlin.

Qureshi said that there are great opportunities for Germany to invest in Pakistan in various areas, including renewable energy, electric vehicles, information technology, and tourism.

He added that he has apprised his German counterpart about the shift in Pakistan’s policy from geo-politics to geo-economics, the government’s focus on economic diplomacy, and the new incentives being offered to investors.
