‘NAB actions are against Pakistan’s interests,’ says Shahid Khaqan Abbasi

Former prime minister and senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Tuesday said that actions of the NAB are not in national interests.

According to the details, while addressing media in Islamabad, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for violating the rules of opposition alliance during elections in the Upper House of the Parliament.

He said that the accountability watchdog was established to suppress opposition and that political system in the country is being pressurized, adding that the actions of the NAB are politically motivated.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi also added that Pakistan’s current government failed to become self sufficient in battle against coronavirus, adding that PTI leadership is fighting the pandemic with the help of donations.

It is worth mentioning here that serious differences emerged between the PPP and the PML-N after the former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gillani was appointed as Senate opposition leader.

Earlier week, the PDM decided to part ways with the PPP and ANP, and form a new alliance of five opposition parties having 27 members in the Senate.

The opposition group headed by the PML-N had decided not to accept Mr Gilani as the opposition leader and announced formation of a separate group.
