The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Thursday allowed the government to unblock popular video streaming application TikTok in Pakistan.

According to the details, a bench, headed by Chief Justice Qaiser Rashid, directed the concerned authorities, to ensure that immoral content is not uploaded to the app.

During the proceedings, PHC’s top judge questioned the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) director general, ‘What action have you taken so far for the removal of objectionable content from the application?’

In reply, DG PTA said that the authority raised the issue with the TikTok management. Adding that, ‘The management has hired a focal person who will handle the issues of indecent and illegal content.’

Later, Federal Minister of Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry in his tweet put an emphasis on the need of framework to encourage international companies for making Pakistan as their investment hub.
