Preachers to promote use of coronavirus vaccine in Friday prayer sermons
As the country is getting severely affected by the third wave of coronavirus, the Pakistan Ulema Council on Thursday has advised the preachers to promote the use of the COVID-19 vaccine in the Friday prayers sermons.
The PUC in a joint statement issued by several scholars said,
“During the Friday prayers, the use of coronavirus vaccine and implementation of coronavirus SOPs will be promoted.”
Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, the Special Aide to the Prime Minister on Interfaith Harmony and the Middle East along with other Islamic scholars said in a joint statement that ulema would appeal to people to administer the coronavirus vaccine and follow safety measures.
“The third wave of coronavirus is dangerous, and Islamic principles [during such a situation] have advised following safety measures,” Ashrafi said.
Coronavirus Pakistan:
Pakistan recorded 98 deaths due to the novel coronavirus over the last 24 hours, taking the national death tally to 14,530.
According to the latest statistics by the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC), 4,974 more infections were reported during this period after which the national toll of confirmed cases jumped to 672,931.
As per NCOC, the positive cases rate during the third wave of coronavirus in Pakistan is 9.9%.
The number of active cases across the country is 50,397, whereas 605,274 people have been recovered from the dread virus since its outbreak in Pakistan.
