The Lahore High Court (LHC) has approved bail plea of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif in money laundering case on Wednesday.

According to the details, Lahore High Court approved bail of Shehbaz Sharif against the submission of two surety bonds of Rs 5 million each. During the case hearing, the anti graft watchdog National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor in his arguments said Shehbaz Sharif had no sources of income other than Ramzan sugar mills, which was inherited to him from his parents.

Moreover, the NAB prosecutor said a massive jump was witnessed in Shahbaz’s assets after 2005.

In his arguments before the court, Shehbaz Sharif’s lawyer said that it is the duty of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to find sources of income of Shehbaz Sharif not of accountability watchdog. He added that the frequent arrests of his client by the NAB expressed its dishonesty.

The court after hearing arguments from both sides had reserved the verdict in Shehbaz’s bail plea which was announced later.

The opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif was asked to submit surety bonds of Rs 5 million each against his bail.
