Earlier in March 2021, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) decided to reschedule the NA-75 Daska by-elections.

According to the announcement, the by-polls are now being held on April 10, 2021.

Earlier, the Supreme Court of Pakistan sought ECP’s records regarding the NA-75 Daska by-election that was held on February 19, 2021.

During the hearing on the petition filed by the PTI candidate who stood for election in the constituency, Justice Umar Ata Bandial observed that the top court had ruled that elections should be free and fair.

The Apex court after hearing the arguments also directed the ECP to submit all records based on which the elections were declared illegal.

It may be recalled that the top electoral body on February 25 had ordered re-polling in the entire NA-75 constituency on March 18 after suspicions that the results of the by-elections held earlier may have been falsified.
