NEPRA Approves Reduction In Price Of Electricity By 19 Paise Per Unit

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved a reduction of 19 paise per unit in the price of electricity.

The notification issued by NEPRA said that the reduction would be made in the context of monthly fuel charge adjustment in June, which would be applicable only to August bills.

According to the notification, the Central Power Purchasing Agency had requested an increase of 80 paise per unit, on which the NEPRA Authority held a public hearing on July 28, 2021.

The notification further said that the fuel price adjustment would not be applicable to Lifeline, Agricultural and K Electric customers using up to 300 units.
