Over 33% People Aged 50 And Above Given First Dose Of Vaccine: Asad Umar

Federal Minister for Planning Asad Omar said that over 33 per cent of people of age 50 and above have received at least one vaccine dose.

According to details, Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar stated on social networking site Twitter that 21 per cent of Pakistanis aged 50 and above had received a single dose of the vaccine.

Asad Omar said that this rate has now increased to 33%.

The Federal Minister added in his tweet that people aged 50 and above are most vulnerable to serious disease due to COVID-19.

“Please particularly encourage those in this age group to vaccinate,” he added.

On the other hand, according to a statement issued by the National Command and Operations Center, 57,233 tests were conducted in the country during the last 24 hours, of which 4,720 were tested positive.

Yesterday, the pandemic claimed the lives of 95 more people. The positivity rate has been recorded at 8.24%.
