Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that Pakistan seeks broad-based relations with Afghanistan and stands with the Afghan people, ready for all possible steps for lasting peace in Afghanistan.

Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa expressed these views during a meeting with an eight-member high-level Afghan delegation at GHQ Rawalpindi.

According to the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), the current situation in Afghanistan was discussed in detail during the meeting.

Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that peace in Afghanistan is very important for the peace and prosperity of the region. Pakistan stands by the people of Afghanistan.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that inclusive settlement was important for regional peace and stability.

The Afghan delegation appreciated Pakistan’s efforts and role for peace and stability in Afghanistan.

The Afghan delegation also appreciated the sacrifices made by the Pakistan Army for the socio-economic development of Afghanistan and for the establishment of peace and stability.
