Several passengers travelling from Pakistan to Dubai were denied boarding due to revised instructions from the United Arab Emirates regarding Coronavirus.

According to the report, the passengers were denied boarding as they did not report a negative Rapid PCR test which was conducted within 4 hours of the flight.

A negative report of a rapid PCR test conducted by UAE authorities within 4 hours of a flight to Dubai has been declared mandatory.

However, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of Pakistan says that it does not have the facility of rapid PCR tests at any of the country’s international airports.

A CAA spokesman said in a statement that the negative Rapid PCR test was imposed by UAE authorities without prior notice to the CAA or any other stakeholder.

He said the CAA had immediately approached the Foreign Ministry to take up the matter with the UAE authorities through diplomatic channels so that a solution could be found and the difficulties faced by the passengers could be alleviated.
