The Prime Minister will visit Lahore today to inaugurate the world’s largest Miyawaki Forest for tree planting in the monsoon under the 10 Billion Tsunami Plan.

The forest is built on 100 kanals and will be planted with 165,000 plants, which are 10 times faster growing than normal trees with unique Miyawaki technology.

In addition to the preparation of specific land for growing fast-growing urban forests, different varieties are being used at different growth rates. In different parts of Lahore, 53 Mayawaki forests have been identified at various places, which will help in reducing carbon as well as pollution in the city.

Prime Minister Imran Khan is committed to renovating and restoring Lahore’s pollution-free and garden city.

During the current monsoon season, 500 million saplings are being planted across the country, which is the largest monsoon tree planting in the history of Pakistan.
