More than 40 million people have been administered both doses of the Covid vaccines so far in the country and over 70 million people have got at least one dose of the vaccines.

On October 30, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar had also shared the data on Twitter which stated that at least 70 million people have now received at least one dose and 40 million are fully vaccinated across Pakistan.

“The government is making progress to vaccinate the people,” he had written in a tweet. He had said the government had set a target of vaccinating 70 million people by the end of 2021.

“We continue to make progress to vaccinate Pakistan. The year-end target for 2021 was 70 million people vaccinated. Happy to report that 70 million people have now received at least one dose and 40 million are fully vaccinated. With two months to go, will inshallah meet, and exceed, the target,” he had added.

Umar had also apprised that from November 1 the government was going to impose “different levels of restrictions” in different districts based on their Covid-19 vaccination rates.

“Starting Nov 1, different levels of restrictions applicable based on vaccination rates. Islamabad, Mirpur, Gilgit and Mandi Bahauddin [are] in the highest vax [sic] group, hence, the least restrictions. Medium category: [includes] Peshawar, Pindi, Jehlum, Bagh and Bhimber [in] AJK, Skardu, Hunza, Ghizer and Kharmang in G-B.”

Umar had added that the faster vaccinations were carried out in any district, the quicker restrictions could be relaxed.
