OIC secretary general arrives to attend OIC Foreign Ministers meeting

ISLAMABAD: Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha arrived here on Monday to attend 48th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers.

He was warmly welcomed by Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib, Special Representative on Religious Harmony Muhammad Tahir Ashrafi and officials of Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the airport.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister of Guinea Bissau Mrs. Suzi Carla Barbosa, Foreign Minister Gambia Dr. Mamadou Tangara, Maldives’ Permanent Representative to OIC, Mohemed Khalil, Bangladesh’s Permanent Representative to OIC Mohammad Javed Patwary and Foreign Minister of Niger Hassoumi Massoutou on Monday arrived in Islamabad. The officials of Ministry of Foreign Affairs warmly welcomed the distinguished guests at the airport.

President Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Mohammad Sulaiman Al Jasser also arrived here on Monday morning to attend 48th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers.

He was warmly welcomed by Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib and Special Representative on Religious Harmony Muhammad Tahir Ashrafi.

The 48th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC is beginning in Islamabad on Tuesday and Prime Minister Imran Khan will deliver the keynote address at the Inaugural Session.

The thematic focus of the two-day Ministerial Conference is on ‘Partnering for Unity, Justice, and Development’.

Foreign Ministers and high-level dignitaries from OIC Member and Observer States, attending the session, will also witness the Pakistan Day Parade on 23 March as Guests of Honour.
