SUKKUR: Police have arrested the suspect involved in murdering a teenager girl within limits of Patni police station in Rohri district, Bol news reported on Tuesday.

The suspect, identified as Wahid Bukhsh Lashari, entered the house and tried to molest the 15-year-old girl, Pooja Awdh, while she was alone at home. Upon resistance to alleged rape attempt, the suspect gunned down Pooja and fled from the crime scene.

Within few hours of the incident, taking swift action, police arrested Lashari along with the weapon.

It is pertinent here to mention that a Twitter trend, backed by Indian activists, has been launched trying to malign Pakistan and the Muslim community for an individual act.

On February 14, a woman was allegedly gang-raped at gunpoint during a robbery bid in Karachi’s Surjani Town, BOL News had reported.

The horrifying incident had taken place in Sujrani Town Sector 7-A, where three suspected robbers had barged into the house and made the family members hostage at gunpoint.

After looting valuables, the robbers had held the girl at gunpoint and gang-raped her. The muggers had fled the crime scene safely, according to police, who had added that efforts were being made to apprehend those responsible for the incident.
